Sonic Reduction

I'll have a blistering review of Richard Lange's short story collection Dead Boys in the Rocky Mountain News in the next week or two, but in the meantime, the author got to take his turn at Largehearted Boy's "Book Notes," and has selected a tune for each of his dozen stories. Some interesting choices here, including songs from Tom Waits, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Warren Zevon, Black Flag, a lost classic by Neil Young, and my personal favorite, "You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory," by the late, great Johnny Thunders.

Oh, and it looks like LB was kind enough to include a link to my "Radio Noir" column at Bookslut, which integrates a short interview with the author. Right on.

UPDATE: Lange weighs in on what he's reading these days at Writers Read.
